Four Arrested in Mailardevpally Murder Case
Hyderabad police have apprehended four individuals in connection with the murder of an unidentified person at a godown in Mailardevpally. The incident, which took place on June 25, involved workers confronting a stranger found on the company premises.
Incident Details
The event unfolded around 2 AM on June 25 at the Swastik Shiva Decorators tenthouse company godown in Pallecheruvu, under Mailardevpally police station limits. Four workers, identified as Balaji (39) from Bidar, Karnataka; Nayan Mandal (23) and Uttam Bera (35) from West Bengal; and Prem Parihar (26) from Bahadurpura, were staying in workers’ quarters at the site. They noticed an unknown individual moving suspiciously within the godown premises.
Confrontation and Assault
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Rajendranagar, S Srinivas, the unidentified person, believed to be under the influence of alcohol, had entered the godown. When confronted by the workers and asked to explain his presence, he reportedly failed to provide a satisfactory response and became aggressive. The four accused workers then assaulted him and confined him inside the godown’s kitchen, where he subsequently died.
Police Investigation and Arrests
Following the incident, the workers informed their employer, who then reported the matter to Mailardevpally police on the morning of June 25. Police immediately moved the body for a post-mortem examination and registered a case under Section 103(1) (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against the labourers. The four accused were arrested from the godown on Saturday and presented before a magistrate, after which they were remanded in judicial custody.
