Hyderabad Task Force Arrests Four for Illegal Sale of Bodybuilding Injections at Begum Bazar
The Hyderabad Task Force (Golconda unit) and Goshamahal Police arrested four men on Friday for allegedly illegally procuring, supplying, selling, and consuming Mephentermine Sulphate injections commonly used for bodybuilding. The arrests were made at Begum Bazar, a busy commercial area in the city, while the accused were attempting to sell the injections to customers.
The accused were identified as Gowtham Singh, R Abhilash, Siddesh Aundekar, and Daksh Upadhyay. According to police, Singh allegedly procured the injections from a supplier based in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, at Rs 160 per vial and sold them for Rs 900 each with assistance from Abhilash.
Seizure and recovered material
Police recovered 50 vials of Mephentermine Sulphate injections, insulin injections, empty vials, and mobile phones from the four men. The total value of the seized material is estimated at Rs 1.85 lakh. The Goshamahal Police have registered a case and are investigating the matter further.
Officials stated that the use of such unregulated injections poses serious health risks, including cardiac complications, as Mephentermine Sulphate is a prescription-only drug meant for medical use under supervision.
