Minor Driver in Hired SUV Kills Nurse in Asif Nagar Incident
A tragic incident unfolded in Asif Nagar, Hyderabad, on Sunday morning when a 42-year-old nurse, Faheemunnisa, was fatally struck by a hired SUV allegedly driven by a minor. The incident occurred around 8:15 AM as Faheemunnisa was walking to Kaba Hospital for her shift.
The SUV, which police confirmed was rented, rammed into the nurse from behind. Following the collision, the minor driver and his two companions abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene. However, police swiftly acted, tracing and apprehending the 17-year-old driver later the same day.
Victim Succumbs to Injuries
Faheemunnisa was immediately rushed to Osmania General Hospital following the accident. Despite efforts to save her, she succumbed to her injuries around noon. Police subsequently informed her family, who reside in Hills Colony, of the tragic loss.
Police Investigation Underway
Asif Nagar police are actively investigating the incident. ACP K Srinivasu confirmed that three boys were in the car at the time of the accident and were traced from Asif Nagar. Due to the driver being a minor, the investigation will also focus on the individual or entity responsible for providing the hired SUV to the underage driver. Police stated that legal action would be taken against those found liable for allowing a minor to operate the vehicle.
Reports circulating about the minor’s father having political affiliations were denied by local police, who emphasized that the investigation is proceeding without bias. A breathalyzer test conducted on the minor driver returned negative for alcohol, ruling out intoxication as a factor.
