New Telangana High Court and Osmania General Hospital Aim for December 2027 Inauguration

Telangana Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has issued directives to department officials to ensure the inauguration of the new Telangana High Court complex and the new Osmania General Hospital by December 2027. The minister reviewed the progress of these significant infrastructure projects, pushing for a substantial increase in the pace of work.
Focus on Accelerated Construction
During a review meeting held on Friday, July 3, at the Dr BR Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat, Minister Komatireddy specifically addressed the construction of the new High Court complex and Judges’ residential quarters. These are being built on what was previously a biodiversity hotspot within the Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University (PJTAU) in Rajendranagar. He instructed officials to deploy additional manpower and strengthen field-level supervision to meet the ambitious deadline.
Key facts
| Project | Target Inauguration | Minister’s Directive |
|---|---|---|
| New Telangana High Court Complex | December 2027 | Accelerate work, increase manpower, supervision |
| New Osmania General Hospital | December 2027 | Speed up construction, ensure timely completion |
Broader Infrastructure Push
The minister also reiterated the state government’s commitment to developing world-class road infrastructure across Telangana. He urged officials to expedite all ongoing projects and ensure the timely completion of major infrastructure works. This includes the first phase of the Hybrid Annual Model (HAM) road programme, which involves constructing 6,092 km of roads at an estimated cost of nearly Rs 13,000 crore across 34 packages. While work has already commenced on Package-2 (the 42 km Nalgonda–Mahabubnagar double road project), an additional 10 packages are slated to begin in July 2026.
Post-Monsoon Work Schedule
To maintain the project timelines, officials have been instructed to accelerate execution, particularly after the monsoon season. Construction work will be taken up in three shifts, including night hours, to ensure completion within the stipulated schedules. Minister Komatireddy emphasized that quality road connectivity is crucial for economic growth, industrial development, and employment generation. He directed chief engineers to assign experienced field engineers to each project package and maintain close supervision.
Medical Infrastructure Development
Beyond the High Court and Osmania General Hospital, Minister Komatireddy also reviewed the progress of other critical medical infrastructure projects. These include the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) hospitals in Sanathnagar, Alwal, and LB Nagar, the expansion of Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), and the Warangal Multi-Super Speciality Hospital. He directed officials to speed up these projects to make them accessible to the public as soon as possible.
Accountability and Oversight
The minister stressed the importance of greater accountability, instructing officials to deploy technically competent and committed engineers to all prestigious projects. He issued a stern warning that he would conduct surprise inspections of project sites, and any negligence or delays in execution would lead to stringent action. This move aims to ensure efficiency and quality in the execution of these vital public works.
For Hyderabad residents, the completion of the new Telangana High Court complex means improved judicial infrastructure and potentially more efficient legal processes. The new Osmania General Hospital is expected to significantly enhance healthcare facilities, providing modern medical services to a larger population. The broader infrastructure development, particularly road networks, promises to boost connectivity, economic activity, and job creation within the region, directly benefiting daily commuters and businesses.
