Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Directs Officials to Speed Up Hospital Works, Staff Recruitment

Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday directed senior officials to expedite the construction of major government hospitals across Telangana and begin the recruitment of doctors and support staff well before the facilities are completed. The instructions came during a review meeting at the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), where the progress of healthcare and education infrastructure was assessed.
The CM specifically reviewed the status of hospital projects in LB Nagar, Alwal, Warangal and the new Osmania General Hospital at Goshamahal. He instructed the officials to accelerate work at these sites and ensure that no delays occur. “There should be no shortage of staff by the time the hospitals are completed. Procure state-of-the-art medical equipment so that comprehensive healthcare services can be made available immediately after the facilities become operational,” Revanth told the gathering.
Staff recruitment and equipment procurement
Chief secretary Sanjay Jaju was directed to identify the exact staff requirements for each hospital, including the number of doctors, nurses, technicians and support personnel, and initiate the recruitment process without waiting for the construction to finish. The CM stressed that advanced planning is essential to avoid the common problem of completed buildings lying idle due to a lack of staff or equipment.
The government plans to equip the new hospitals with modern medical technology to ensure that residents in these areas receive quality treatment close to home. For Hyderabad’s growing suburbs, the LB Nagar and Alwal hospitals are expected to reduce the burden on existing tertiary care centres such as Gandhi Hospital and Osmania Medical College.
School infrastructure and seasonal disease vigilance
Revanth also turned his attention to education infrastructure. He instructed district collectors and senior officials to conduct regular field visits to government schools, social welfare hostels and hospitals. The CM called for weekly reviews of these facilities at the district level and emphasised the need for vigilance regarding seasonal diseases, particularly as the post-monsoon period often sees a rise in dengue, malaria and viral fevers.
Officials were told to carry out necessary repairs in schools wherever required and ensure that facilities such as drinking water, toilets and classrooms are properly maintained. The directive aims to improve the learning environment in government schools, which serve a large number of students from economically weaker sections.
Global Summit preparations reviewed
During the same meeting, the CM reviewed the arrangements for the Telangana Global Summit 2026, scheduled to be held at Future City in December. He directed officials to prepare detailed plans covering guest invitations, venue arrangements and investment proposals. Revanth said he would personally review the preparations in the coming weeks.
The summit is seen as a key platform to attract investment into the state, particularly in sectors such as information technology, pharmaceuticals, textiles and renewable energy. Future City, located on the outskirts of Hyderabad, is being developed as a new business hub.

Why this matters for Hyderabad residents
For residents in the eastern and northern parts of Hyderabad, the LB Nagar and Alwal hospitals promise to bring specialist healthcare closer, reducing the need to travel long distances for treatment. The new Osmania General Hospital at Goshamahal will serve the old city and surrounding areas. The CM’s focus on recruitment and equipment suggests an attempt to avoid the delays that have plagued past projects. Regular monitoring of schools and hostels also signals a push for better public service delivery at the grassroots level.
